The project’s goal is to improve the livelihood of young people by improving employable vocational technical and entrepreneurial skills. We have reached over 3,500 (50% female) youth aged 18-30 years in Morogoro (Mvomero, Morogoro DC, Municipality and Kilosa) and Dodoma (Kongwa and Mpwapwa districts) regions.
The beneficiaries were facilitated and acquired Basic Life and Business Development Skills as well as practical technical skills in various sub sectors, including, horticulture production and its value chain development, bee and poultry keeping, improved cooking stoves and charcoal production. Others are solar installation, tailoring, food processing and hair dressing.
Beneficiaries were also been provided with skills in Youth Saving and Lending activities (YSLAs) of which several groups were formed and increased capital for their investment and welfare improvement. Several Youth-Led-Enterprises (SMEs) in various subsectors were developed in which entrepreneurial and income generating activities such as food processing, poultry keeping, tailoring are going on.
MWAYODEO strives to improve the livelihood status of women, youth, children and people with disabilities through improving knowledge and skills, provision of start-up kits and adaptation of business ventures in collaboration with local, national, international, public and private partners.
