MWAYODEO implemented Feed the Future-AY project funded by USAID through DAI Tanzania in six villages of Ruaha Mbuyuni and Ilula wards of Kilolo district, Iringa region reaching out 180 (60% female, 40% male) youth. Youth were trained in various entrepreneurial skills using the OYE approach. All of them undertook technical and entrepreneurship skills training to improve horticulture agribusiness value chain management, be self-employed and improve their livelihood.

  • 111 new YLEs were established
  • 45 YLEs were improved.
  • 10 YLEs formed and registered with Kilolo District Council for legal recognition.
  • 145 YLEs and Microenterprises matched to private entities for mentorship
  • 156 (95 female, 61 male) youth trained in YSLAs.
  • YSLAs increased savings in three months period (Tzs.12, 179,700/=, lending Tzs.10, 518,700/=)
  • Increased income of individual and groups ranging from Tzs.5, 000-300,000/per month
